Keith Haring, one of the most iconic artists of the 1980s art scene, has left his mark on the history of street art and pop art with his unique and instantly recognizable style. Born in 1958 in Pennsylvania, Haring developed a passion for drawing at an early age, influenced by comic book characters and pop artists like Andy Warhol. His work, marked by graphic simplicity, iconic shapes and bright colors, has transcended the boundaries of the art world to become a universal visual language.
The Emergence of an Urban Artist
It was in New York in the 1980s that Keith Haring truly found his inspiration and his place in the street art movement. The city, at the time, was a crossroads for artists seeking free and alternative expression.
